Admission Policies

The Waldorf School of Jordan welcomes students regardless of gender, race, religion, or nationality. We evaluate each applicant carefully and wholistically, with the goal of ensuring that we provide students with the best possible educational programs and overall school environment. All applicants and families will be interviewed by one of our school principals. These interviews will be considered along with previous school records and other relevant factors in determining acceptance and placement.

  • Students must have a level of English proficiency suitable to their grade level to be considered for admission. Although English is our primary language of instruction and communication, we are proud of being a bilingual school with a strong emphasis on Arabic language and learning throughout. Arabic is a mandatory subject for all Waldorf students, with a fully-supported Arabic as a Second Language program offered to international and expatriate families.

  • The Waldorf School of Jordan does not offer separate individual tutoring or other forms of remedial education for students who cannot fully benefit from their grade level classrooms. We believe that separating students from their peers and labeling them as requiring remedial tutoring is detrimental for their confidence and overall development. We offer strong in-class differentiation and support programs, with an exceptional team of co-teachers who work closely with class teachers to support students and empower learning in every subject. Waldorf education is all about paying special attention to the unique needs and interest of all of our students.

  • Children who have exhibited serious behavioral problems or required extensive disciplinary actions in previous school settings may be denied admission. However, we find that most behavioral or disciplinary problems are resolved through the healthy atmosphere of the Waldorf classroom––alongside loving teachers, counselors, principals, and a supportive community. Because Waldorf emphasizes overall wellbeing and inspires a genuine love of learning in our students, disruptions and disciplinary problems remain minimal.

  • The Waldorf School of Jordan typically does not accept students who, because of educational, emotional, cognitive or physical disabilities, require special education classes or support services to fully benefit from the classroom setting or school programs. This said, we believe that many children who aren’t thriving and may have been labelled at other schools are victims of a system that fails to care for or support them wholistically.

  • The Waldorf School of Jordan believes that successful education must be a result of a positive partnership between the school and students’ parents. For this reason, parents must accept all relevant school policies, rules and regulations. Parents are also responsible for signing and/or submitting all documents required for their child’s registration and enrollment.
