Winter Fair 2025 — A Living-Room Warmth in a School Gym, A Family Spirit in Every Corner

By Razan Mbaideen – Activities Coordinator

This year’s Winter Fair carried a rare kind of warmth—the warmth of a living-room gathering where everyone knows everyone, and the school gym suddenly feels like home. Every corner held a familiar face, every table held a story, and the entire space filled with the soft glow of a community moving as one family.

The bake sale tables were the first to draw families in, offering scents and smiles that felt like stepping into a home kitchen. Parents contributed homemade pastries, cakes, cookies, and winter treats, creating a warm, abundant display that wrapped the room in comfort. It wasn’t just fundraising—it was family giving to family.

The craft section featured artwork made by students with the help of our Art and Handwork teachers in the weeks leading up to the fair. Colorful, meaningful, and full of imagination, each piece was displayed with care and attention. These creations added brightness to the gym and reminded us of the simple magic in children’s hands.

A special section honored the students who participated earlier in the season in collecting olives. Guided with dedication by Ms. Niveen Zureikat, our Lab Supervisor, students harvested olives and prepared jars that stood as symbols of tradition, patience, and connection to the land. The jars and olive oil bottles added an authentic, earthy note to the fair—grounding the event in heritage.

And in the middle of the winter air, a simple gesture tied everything together: hot chocolate, generously offered by Jerard—a local brand we are proud to support—added a cozy touch that wrapped the fair in warmth and gratitude.

Throughout the day, our Student Council brought leadership, elegance, and heart. They supported visitors, guided children, organized tables, and stood as young ambassadors of the Waldorf spirit. We proudly recognize: Hussain Farawati, Mahmoud Alhaqash, Miral Al Shawwa, Taleen Al-Baghuthi, Haleemah Hassouneh, Hasan Hassouneh, Bana Mehyar, Salma Isaeeed, and Own El-Turk

By the end of the day, as the gym quieted down, it was clear: this Winter Fair truly felt like a living-room gathering with family—warm, familiar, and filled with people who care about one another.

Thank you to every parent, teacher, and student who helped make this day so special.
