Good Times Ahead––Student Journalism!

Dear Parents, Students, and Members of the School Community,

I am delighted to announce the launch of our new Blogging and Journalism Program at Waldorf. As Head of this zestful program, I am eager to share with you our vision for empowering young voices and promoting critical thinking.

At Waldorf, we believe that empowering students to become critical and responsible media consumers and producers is essential in today’s world. With the rise of social media and the 24-hour news cycle, it is more important than ever for young people to develop strong journalism skills and the ability to think critically about the media they consume.

Our Blogging and Journalism Program is designed to do just that. Through a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on experience, and mentorship from experienced journalists, students will learn the skills necessary to produce high-quality content, including news articles, feature stories, interviews, opinion pieces, and multimedia projects. They will also have the opportunity to explore important issues facing their community and the world at large, and to share their perspectives with a wider audience.

Additionally, our program aims to foster a culture of collaboration and community. We believe that journalism is at its best when it reflects a diversity of voices and perspectives, and we are committed to creating a safe and inclusive space where all students feel valued and supported.

I am honored to be leading this exciting new program, and I look forward to working with all of you to foster a new generation of thoughtful and engaged writers and journalists. If you have any questions or would like more information, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or any member of our team.

Sincerely,

Mr Shurahbeel Abu Alsamen

Head of Student Journalism Program
