Dear WMUN Students and Families,
We are still buzzing with pride and excitement after an extraordinary weekend at AMMUN XXIV. Our delegates didn’t just attend a conference—they elevated it. From the first gavel to the final applause, WMUN energy filled every committee room, every hallway, every debate, and every conversation.
Without trying to capture it all of course, I wanted to share a few glimpses of the magic your WMUNers created:
THE RESOLUTION TRAILBLAZERS: Salma Isayyied, Leyan Mohsen, Ward Takrouri, Talya Abo Aljidy, and Mahmoud Al Haqash brought a storm of confidence and clarity into their forums. They argued, defended, amended, negotiated—and came out with resolutions and amendments soaring through committee. Their performance was nothing short of inspirational.
SECURITY COUNCIL BRILLIANCE: Representing France, Hassan Salameh delivered a diplomatic masterclass. Not only did he expertly pass his resolution, but he navigated the Security Council with such strategic sharpness that he managed to wage—and win—a war against the UK.
ARAB LEAGUE EXCELLENCE: The Arab League felt the full power of WMUN this year. Taima Al-Mansi, Yasmine Isayyied, and Hashim Araim each passed their resolutions as main submitters with overwhelming support. Meanwhile, Hashem Hiasat kept the momentum going with a series of effective, well-targeted amendments. Together, they set the tone for excellence in their forum.
DEBATERS WHO OWNED THE FLOOR: Rakan Bani Ahmad, Hashim Al Sawalha, and Sami Nijem impressed everyone with their presence, clarity, and rhythm in debate. With three passing amendments and a winning resolution among them, they made sure WMUN’s voice was heard loud and clear.
UNSHAKABLE SPEAKERS: Some delegates bring energy. Others bring consistency. But these four brought both: Jude Alomari, Bana Mahyar, Albruz Wumar, and Abdullah Al-Sharif were unwavering pillars throughout the conference—focused, confident, and always ready to engage.
DIPLOMACY BEYOND THE PODIUM: One of the most beautiful parts of MUN is the human side—the friendships, the networks, the laughter in the hallways, the alliances over coffee breaks. Rayan Rabieh, Luna Ahmad, Farah J’oaneh, Yassine Masri, Samy Al Qawasmeh, Zaid Musleh, Leen Aladam, and Eleen Bazian made connections everywhere they went. Their kindness, warmth, and social diplomacy reminded everyone what MUN is truly about.
OUR COURAGEOUS CHAMPIONS: A very special mention goes to Sama Samara and Christa-Maria Raad, who attended the conference despite being unwell. They showed resilience beyond their years—standing tall, participating fully, and shining through the exhaustion. Their resilience and commitment touched us deeply. We are so proud of them.
To our delegates: you embodied excellence, respect, knowledge, courage, and joy at every turn. You walked into AMMUN XXIV with the quiet confidence of learners who know who they are and what they stand for, and you carried the Waldorf spirit into every committee room. Whether speaking, negotiating, drafting, debating, or simply offering kindness in the hallways, you reminded everyone—peers, chairs, and directors alike—what it means to lead with both intellect and heart. You did not just participate in a conference; you elevated it with your presence.
To our families: thank you for every ounce of support, encouragement, patience, and trust. Your partnership makes opportunities like these possible, and your children’s accomplishments are a reflection of the foundation you provide at home.
And to our extraordinary WMUN Supervisor Team—Mr. Buddy Imboden, Ms. Georgina Tseganoff, Ms. Mallory Barney, and Ms. Aseel Nassar—your guidance, preparation, care, and unwavering belief in our students made this weekend shine. You stood behind every delegate, celebrated every step of growth, and brought out the very best in each of them.
We also extend heartfelt thanks to the many Waldorf teachers and staff who supported this journey in countless ways. A special appreciation goes to Ms. Razan Mbaideen and Ms. Rama Abdallah, who spent long hours with us—on campus, at the venue, and online—capturing and sharing the great vibes and making sure our entire community could feel the energy of the conference.
AMMUN XXIV will remain one of our most memorable experiences, and that is because of each and every one of you.
With so much pride and appreciation,
––Nadia Amad
